9th JATs Cast brass metal with original pin fitting to the reverse. King's Crown. Circa 37mm tall. In good condition. Worn from 1922 - 1950.

The IX (9th) JAT Regiment of the British Indian Army existed from 1922 to 1947, and consisted of the following units:
1st Royal Battalion (Light Infantry)
2nd Battalion (Mooltan Battalion)
3rd Battalion (from 10th Jats)
4th Battalion (from 18th Infantry)
The regiment was allocated to India at the time of partition (1947).
