Whilst they bear a QVC crown, this pattern of button with this crown was worn post 1902 by the 47th (Middlesex Yeomanry) Signals Squadron (V). Gilt buttons, the gilt dulled on the smaller of the two, both with fixed shanks and the larger maker marked JR Gaunt & Son Ltd, London, the smaller 'Made in England'. Circa 22mm and 17mm respectively. Some verdigris to reverse of smaller button.

Circa 25mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker's details (if any) no longer visible but other examples have been noted made by J. Tyndale of Birmingham. Flat open backed with a 3 over D within Greek key design. Made from a copper allow with traces of gilt finish still evident but mainly worn away. Most likely excavated. Some edge wear.
