A scarce one piece white metal shoulder title as worn by other ranks of the 5th (Territorial Force) Battalion, the Northumberland Fusiliers. Three original dark toned D style loops to the reverse. Northumberland Fusiliers ( NF ) Volunteer Territorial Officer's Mess Dress of Cap reversed metals small pattern button

Mounted gilt device on silver plated button base, with fixed shank and backmarked Gaunt London. Circa 16mm in diameter. The Volunteers and Territorials wore reversed metal buttons, as found here. Worn circa 1883 - 1914. In very good condition. Scarce.

Victorian 5th Fusiliers / Northumberland Fusiliers Officers Silver & Gilt Mess Dress Shoulder Badge Ornament

A favourite badge of mine, not immediately one that would be associated with the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers, but this was the badge worn on various forms of shoulder decoration by officers from 1836 until 1898.
