An acorn with leaves on a ground of green enamel to the centre of a circlet bearing the title, upon a multi-rayed hob-nail star. The line above the tip of the acorn is camera flash reflection. Of two part die struck and overlaid construction with two original silvered loops. and maker marked Hamilton & Co. Calcutta to reverse. In very good condition with all fiddly bits present and correct. Raised in 1911, re-designated in 1917 as the 44th Calcutta Scottish and in 1920 as the Calcutta Scottish. Lovely design to centre. Scarce.

A theatre made badge with two original loops (n-s) to the reverse. Appears to be have been plated byt back to the brass on the front. Mounted on an aged rectangle of blue felt cloth. This appears to be the original badge backing. Some fading to this.

The Corps of Indian Engineers was former in 1932 and pattern of badge was worn from January 1932 until 1950. A five pointed star of India within a laurel wreath, title below inscribed "Indian Engineers". This one appears to be die cast with two original loops to the reverse and as been wartime blackened.
