1878 Pattern Spiked Helmet Tin Carry Case - 1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers to G. Watson Smart

A die cast silver plated example with two original loops to the reverse and maker marked by JR Gaunt London.
The Army Remount Department was formed in circa 1875 at Soharanpur but badges were not authorised until 1931 (Indian Dress Regulations 1931 para 179).
