1878 Pattern Spiked Helmet Tin Carry Case - 1st Volunteer Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers to G. Watson Smart

Japanned style copper carry / storage case with original applied brass plaque to an officer in the 1st VB NF, dating it to pre 1908. Usual dings and bashes and paint loss, but inside is bright. Locking clasp present but hasp is now missing, but could be repaired.

Mid- Victorian Pewter Pint Tankard - Relief Decoration Depicts 1860s Style Rifle Volunteers On Exercise

A decorated panel in relief on the outside face of the tankard shows some 1860s style Rifle Volunteers marching in the countryside and shooting, with a dog watching on. Some marks to reverse of base. British India - Army Remount Department Officers Die Cast Silver Plated Cap Badge - Gaunt

A die cast silver plated example with two original loops to the reverse and maker marked by JR Gaunt London.

The Army Remount Department was formed in circa 1875 at Soharanpur but badges were not authorised until 1931 (Indian Dress Regulations 1931 para 179).
