South African Royston's Horse RH Large Souch Hat Brass Letters - Of Australian interest

An early thickly cast brass metal RH joined with two large integral fixing lugs to the reverse. Circa 45mm wide and 17mm tall. Royston's Horse wore this during the 1906 Natal Rebellion. They were cast in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Circa 45mm wide and 17mm tall. Rare. Thank you to Andrew for the correct identification.

A 1970s issue, flat die cast in chrome with two original lugs to the reverse. Circa 39mm tall and 42mm wide with loops EW (19mm gap). With dark blue felt backing. It came with this but cannot determine whether this is correct or not. It certainly displays better with it.
