"The Dear Dolly" Series of Postally Used Boer War Generals Original Postcards

A series of postally used postcards, all addressed to "Dear Dolly" from Harry, and all sent in 1904 from London to an Eastbourne Address. All a bit grubby and all sepia, postally used and one each for Lt-Col Baden Powell, General Sir Redvers Buller, Sir George White VC and Major General Lord Kitchener. Still, I thought it was important to keep them together. A nice set.  read more

Churchill confirms that this small pattern badge, which was also worn as a collar, was latterly fitted with a slider for wear on the Brodrick Cap 1898-1905 (p42 of the "History of The British Army Infantry Collar Badge" refers).
