A superb set to this territorial unit comprising die cast officer's cap badge blackened, with red felt centre held in place with backing disc and two tabs. Circa 17mm in diameter, domed open backed gilt button with original shank, blank reverse. Gilt bright (some minor wear) and very sharp detail - rare. Worn 1808-1815. Scottish Local Militia units absorbed many of the smaller local volunteer units in 1808.

A favourite badge of mine, not immediately one that would be associated with the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers, but this was the badge worn on various forms of shoulder decoration by officers from 1836 until 1898.
